2026 Silent Auction Team
Silent Auction Assistant:
Act as a community ambassador and use our Donation Request Letter to gather donations from local businesses and work collaboratively with our board to design gift baskets and packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Local Outreach & sourcing: Use your "local knowledge" to identify and visit favorite neighborhood shops, restaurants, and service providers to solicit unique donations.
- Themed Package Brainstorming: Collaborate with the event team to "dream up" creative themes (e.g., “Date Night” or "Mother's day", "Chocolate Lovers", " Farmer’s Market” etc).
- Item Assembly & "The Glow-Up": Transform loose items into eye pleasing displays. You’ll help select the perfect containers (crates, totes, or baskets) and arrange them for maximum "wow factor."
- Donation Logistics: Coordinate the pickup or drop-off of physical items and ensure Donor Information is tracked for our thank-you list.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
- Creative Outlet: If you love Pinterest, interior design, or gift-wrapping, this is your time to shine.
- Networking: Get to know other people who volunteer to support our students and schools and make our community a wonderful place to live
- Flexible Schedule: Much of the procurement and assembly can be done on your own time leading up to the event.
Ideal Skills:
- Friendly Persuasion: Comfortable chatting with local businesses and explaining our mission and impact.
- Collaborative Spirit: Enjoys working with others to assemble baskets and swap ideas.
- Organized Mindset: Able to keep track of gift certificates and small items so nothing gets lost in the shuffle.
